Life is a Test!
By Bill Cody
Monday, Mar 21, 2011 05:15
This is a short note from the owners of MyTwinLink.com and the new sister site, TWINSMagazine.com - Bill and Gina Cody.

We are experiencing some life tests of late which may cause us to be not as responsive as we usually are. This applies to new content and of course questions from members and subscribers on our site, MyTwinLink.com. This will be more obviously evident on our other site - TWINSMagazine.com. We have just acquired the assets of the business (not the actual former business entity) and are really excited about energizing the magazine - only to have our time and energy wrenched around by doctors, tests, surgeries and some plain old worry.

My dad is dealing with the ever difficult set of evolving choices related to advancing cancer. As an 84 year old it presents unique challenges and obstacles. I have been assisting with all the doctor management and the plans for an upcoming surgery. Gina, surprisingly and unexpectedly, received a positive breast cancer diagnosis right in the middle of all this. As you can imagine that adds an immense level of emotional weight to each day. The assault on that problem begins now.

This is not meant to illicit anything other than understand if we are not getting to matters quickly. We appreciate your business immensely and thank everyone for their understanding in advance.

Sincerely - Bill Cody

PS - For our TWINSMagazine.com paid subscribers, our first electronic Twins Magazine should be out this week. Ongoing subscriptions will be delivered on the planned schedule. Other orders (from our printed inventory) will be filled in the next two weeks. That inventory arrived from Colorado in Cleveland just last week. We will be offering, as a gesture of good faith, extended electronic subscriptions to existing orders that were yet to be fulfilled by the prior owner. And if there were print orders not fulfilled I will see what I can do in order to make things right. Right now I cannot get to each and every question but be assured that we are still at the wheel. I know there have been calls I have not gotten to but this is the most challenging time I have ever had. Thanks again.

Please use webmaster@twinsmagazine.com for questions for the near term rather than dialing our toll free number and leaving a message.

Travel without the twins
By Bill Cody
Friday, Nov 12, 2010 09:25
I am traveling without the twins for the first time in a couple years today. I actually miss the loads of gear, extra time needed and smiles from the counter, crew and fellow passengers. Somehow I don't feel as special. The gate time seems seems boring and interminable by comparison. I am not wrangling two strollers, two kids bags, extra food, potty breaks, plane toys, worry about losing the kids, staging for early boarding.....

More time to watch the travellers with blow up neck pillows, neckwear that holds passes and paper scraps, ipods, ipads, netbooks, newspapers and flip-flops. They have never had to calculate bag weights or negotiate for free bags with kids gear. Infant(s) in arms has no meaning. What if both kids have motion sickness? Will they sleep at all so mom and dad can read a magazine or do a crossword?

I can see the shoes. I can hear about how grandma missed her flight. How about the guy who pushed to the front of the line saying that his flight was late only to end up at the gate with you waiting for the same plane as you. Which book to pick from the bestseller shelf and pay full retail. Shouldn't it be as cheap as Amazon since there isn't shipping invloved.

Girls sports teams travelling to "states". Can they repeat? Travellers nodding off dreaming. Peeled paint on the supposedly new concourse. Who picked the carpet? Is that jet fuel I smell? What zone am I in? What time zone am I in? Pink bags, blue bags and thousands of black bags. Spilled starbucks...headsets...and backpacks.

I have a moment to thank a serviceman for his service. Thank a counter person for their courtesy. Send a text to my spouse to say I love you.

At last I reflect on what I am not noticing...the twins with me/us. I know they are well and can't wait to get back. The trip will be both peaceful and unsettling. A long weekend. I travel because of a need which has to be met so that will be satisfying by itself.

While the plane delays on the tarmac to check what was called an "erroneous fuel gauge" I will nap and perhaps survey the hawaiian shirts and college text books all waiting to hit the road.
