Diversion 1-8-2010
Bill Cody

Diversion - Twins can feed on each other and create flurries of
activity and emotion. It can be a happy and positive moment or a
tirade. Diversion works in either situation.

The twins were getting worked up into a tired, hungry, whining,
fury last night. I could feel my heart race and needed to halt the
progress of this storm of emotion. SO...a diversion...I asked one
of the girls if they still had 5 toes. To my delight the emotional
moment shifted. Almost immediately smiles were evident while they
looked down to count and answer my question. And the storm blew
itself out as quickly as it started.

So, remember diversion because it works. It can be just the
interruption needed to regain composure in a heated moment.
